About the project:
UNDERWATER CONCERT is a performance that takes an inspiration from a dance spectacle Water man Ambrož (based on a story of Andrej Rozman Roza, directed by Natalija Manojlović Varga with soundscapes from Blaž Celarec). With the use of music and scenery elements, the performance resembles a radio play whereas the story is proposed through sound images but comes together as a whole only in the listener's imagination. Performers use essential elements for visual presentation though Underwater Concert forms a new performing format and engages the audience.
Underwater Concert immerses spectators in an underwater world where there are no huge machines, no factories and no supermarkets. Down under lives Waterman Ambrož in his idyllic and perfect life. But this sense of carefree life soon gets invaded by the clutter from dry land and the Water People become an endangered species. In order to protect his kinship Ambrož makes a visit to terrestrial land in a quest to find himself a wife. He finds out that above the surface the sounds; odors and habits are quite different, not only weird but sometimes even dangerous!
O projektu:
PODVODNI KONCERT je glasbeno-scenski performans, ki črpa navdih iz plesne predstave Povodni mož Ambrož (nastale po zgodbi Andreja Rozmana Roze, v režiji Natalije Manojlović Varga z zvočno podobo Blaža Celarca). Podvodni koncert deluje kakor radijska igra, kjer je zgodba podana preko zvočnih slik, celostno razumljena pa se oblikuje šele v poslušalčevi domišljiji. Izvajalci ne igrajo klasičnih prizorov in likov, ampak le nujne elemente vizualne uprizoritve. Podvodni koncert tako snuje nov uprizoritveni format, kjer je poudarek na angažmaju publike.
Podvodni koncert potopi poslušalca v povodni svet, v katerem ni nobenih strojev, nobenih tovarn in nobenih trgovin. Tu živi Povodni mož Ambrož. Vse, kar raste in plava okrog njega zadostuje za brezskrbno in umirjeno življenje. A zaradi vse večje navlake kopenskega življenja, sčasoma idilično življenje pod vodo postane razburkano in povodno ljudstvo ogrožena vrsta. Ambrož se za to, da bi ohranil in nadaljeval svoj povodni rod, odpravi na kopno, kjer si bo poiskal kopensko ženo. Ugotovi, da so nad gladino zvoki, vonjave in navade precej drugačne. Pa ne le čudne in nenavadne, ampak lahko celo nevarne!
