Eun-Me Ahn vam ponuja 1’59’’ / Would you like to participate in an unusual artistic experience? Would you like to say something out loud and at least once shine on stage? Eun-Me Ahn offers you 1’59’’
Plesni Teater Ljubljana pripravlja novo predstavo znane južnokorejske koreografinje Eun-Me Ahn z naslovom 1’59’’, mednarodni projekt za vse željne plesnega uprizarjanja.
Predznanje ni potrebno, nove spretnosti bomo osvajali skupaj.
Pogoji:
Vsak teden bo najmanj 1 delavnica (predvidoma ob sobotah) z umetniki različnih področij (ples, igra, improvizacija, glasba, video,…), s katero dajemo udeležencem možnost raziskovati različne umetniške tehnike in pristope.
Skozi proces bodo dodatna srečanja (vaje, kava/čaj/pivo partiji, dela v nastajanju) za izmenjavo idej z Eun Me Ahn in njeno umetniško ekipo.
PTL – Dance Theatre Ljubljana is preparing a new performance by the famous South Korean choreographer Eun-Me Ahn entitled 1’59’’, an international project for all who want to perform in dance. We offer 50 performers, dance lovers or professionals, of all ages and different backgrounds to create their own show and shine on stage for a minute and 59 seconds.
50 directors, choreographers or authors, 50 different performances presented in one evening. Prior knowledge is not required as we will conquer new skills together.
After two to three months of workshops with artists from different fields (dance, theatre, improvisation, music, video…) under the direction and choreography of Eun-Me Ahn, participants will occupy this place of freedom and talk about what they want, in a way they want, and present the result of their creative process to the audience, where the only limitation is this time frame.
A minute and 59 seconds is the average attention time on an online video platform before we head off elsewhere. Not much time when we have a lot to say, but enough to express our deep feelings and present a certain topic that we love. And nowadays, when we rush more often than we connect externally, there is an abundance of social isolation.
The result is a surprise that acts like a magnifying glass: through a variety of themes (family, age, love, business, gender, racism, ecology…) we see a microcosm of fantastic reflection of society and the problems and joys that move it.
We invite you to join us in this exciting project, present your idea on stage or video and present yourself in a show lasting 1 minute 59 seconds.
Conditions:
To have a dream, an idea, a need, a desire (albeit vaguely).
Be willing to invest a little seriousness and a little madness.
Being young, old, ageless, beginners or experienced.
Be available to attend workshops between end of March and June 2021.
There will be at least 1 workshop each week (expected on Saturdays) with artists from different fields (dance, play, improvisation, music, video…), giving participants the opportunity to explore different artistic techniques and approaches.
Throughout the process, there will be additional meetings (rehearsals, coffee / tea / beer parties, works in progress) to exchange ideas with Eun Me Ahn and her artistic team.
After 7 weeks of workshops, participants will be invited to present a show, 1 minute and 59 seconds long, that will reflect their passions, desires and thoughts in whatever form they desire.
Participation in the artistic project is free of charge.
If you want to experience being part of the staging event of 50 individuals of all generations (over 14 years old) and environments of the global community, sign up at info@ptl-lj.si until 22nd March 2021.
O avtorici
About the author
Ah, this glorious treat clashes “between tradition and contemporaneity”!
In this sense, EUN-ME AHN, discovered by France in 2013 and 2014, has found new, unexpected and exciting methods. These stem primarily from her itinerary, which is equally marked by learning and exploring shamanic traditions and the long years she spent in New York, or her deep friendship with the late legendary choreographer Pina Bausch, whom she invited several times to Wuppertal.
Korean and cosmopolitan Eun-Me Ahn is an avant-garde artist but also a choreographer of the official opening of the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Daegu, who has participated in major international festivals and knows how to enhance the beauty of contrasts, how to handle dotted, striped and pink patterns, how to play with the most vibrant colours and immediately move on to the most serious asceticism, how to play with the most subtle shades of androgyny, or use slowness to break the rhythm of trance.
Eun-Me Ahn is a strict, precise, demanding and Korean-disciplined, but at the same time a daring performer, ready for a variety of adventures. She could be seen jumping from the top of a crane, attacking the piano with an axe and scissors, tearing off her fairy-tale dress of white ties and distributing the pieces among the audience… But in all of it it's not about provocation, but an expression of curiosity and freedom, that lean on work and style and are driven to their most unexpected limits.
