About project:
OUTSIDE takes us on a guided journey, inviting us to observe and explore places, read the visible and invisible traces within them, imagine their hidden lives and collectively craft new – possible, playful, imaginative, utopian – stories of these spaces.
Traces. To follow.
We follow established paths while simultaneously forging unknown ones. We create and leave behind new traces. As we explore, we contemplate whether there is still space in our shared environment for imagination, which might be found in the cobblestones under our feet, in the unconventional use of space, or in surprises around the corner, leading us to new perspectives and pathways.
O projektu:
In koliko poti, teles in zgodb prečka našo!
Sledi. Slediti.
ZUNAJ nas popelje na vodeno pot in povabi, da opazujemo ter raziskujemo sledi, prebiramo njihove namige, si zamišljamo njihova skrita življenja in skupaj mimogrede ustvarimo nove – možne, igrive, domišljijske, utopične – zgodbe teh prostorov.
Sledimo že obstoječemu in hkrati oblikujemo še neizrisano pot. Ustvarjamo in zapuščamo nove sledi.

Excerpt from press review:
The performance, intended primarily for young audiences, tries to find a sense of public space as a place of associative play, in which some of the already existing elements of streets, roads, walls become anchors for the unfolding of the performance. The audience thus encounters permanent and non-permanent traces, which they as well create around the city themselves, adding their new, original contribution. In this way, the performance becomes a cyclical interaction between tracking and leaving a trace that goes beyond its own space (…)

O avtorici:
Barbara Kanc je plesalka, koreografinja, performerka in plesna pedagoginja. Izobraževala se je na Umetniški gimnaziji, smer sodobni ples, nato pa leta 2007 z odliko diplomirala na Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance v Londonu. Pozornost ji pritegnejo male, skoraj neopazne stvari in različne oblike navzočnosti. V navideznih preprostostih in neznatnostih se ustavlja, jih išče in jim daje pomen. Avtorske projekte ustvarja ciklično, v skladu z njeno naravo - mednje spadajo: Waitings, Yah Eht Ni Eldeen, Iskanja brez naslova, Oči, ki letijo in Pronicanja (oba v soavtorstvu z Anjo Bornšek in Tino Valentan), Zunaj/Znotraj (in vmes): Vrt, Zunaj: Potosled (2024) in drugi. Miha Golob), Povodni koncert, Povodni mož Ambrož in CTRL.SHIFT.ESC. (r. in kor. Natalija Manojlović Varga), Krickrac, to sem jaz! (r. in kor. Mateja Bizjak Petit) in Medvedek Pu (r. Benjamin Zajc).

About author:
Barbara Kanc is a dancer, choreographer, performer and dance teacher. She was educated at the Art Grammar School, majoring in contemporary dance, and then in 2007 she graduated with honors from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She is attracted to small, almost imperceptible things and various forms of presence. She searches for meaning in the seeming simplicity and insignificance. Author's projects are created cyclically, according to its nature - among them: Waitings, Yah Eht Ni Eldeen, Iskanja brez naslova, Oči, ki letijo in Pronicanja (both co-authored with Anja Bornšek and Tina Valentan), Outside/Inside (and in between): Garden, Outside: Potosled (2024) and others. As a dancer she participated in dance performances with artists such as Maja Delak, Dejan Srhoj, Katja Legin and the No! Training Lab, Matjaž Farič, Iztok Kovač and others. In recent years, she has devoted more and more creative energy to young audiences. As a dancer she participates in theatre and dance performances for children and adolescents, such as Peskovnik and Tunel (r. Miha Golob), Povodni koncert, Povodni mož Ambrož and CTRL.SHIFT.ESC. (R. and Cor. Natalija Manojlović Varga), Doodledee, it's me! (R. and Cor. AEIOU and Sanja Tropp Frühwald) and Hišica iz kock (dir. Irena Rajh). As a choreographer, she worked on performances Kuku, Oh la la and Tok tok tok (dir. Mateja Bizjak Petit) and Medvedek Pu (dir. by Benjamin Zajc). Since 2004 she has also worked as a performer and author in the field of historical (Renaissance and Medieval) dances. For over a decade, she has been teaching children and young people about creative and contemporary dance. She has created many dance miniatures and performances with them, as she firmly believes in the transformative power of dance – both for the individual and for society as a whole If you are interested in what she does and where she creates, you can find more about her work at:https://koreografski.info/barbara-kanc/
