Methods of foreign and self-manipulation are studied and illuminated with likeable performer Jerca Rožnik Novak. Is being unprepared scripted, or are we preparing ourselves to be unprepared? In a society where powerlessness objectively increases, people develop a defensive instinct to regain power through manipulating others. The ego becomes small, disappears inside, and resurfaces in an all-embracing way. What image does the mirror of manipulation offer?
Simpatična performerka Jerca Rožnik Novak proučuje in pojasnjuje metode manipulacije in samo manipulacije. Ali je nepripravljenost vnaprej načrtovana, ali pa se na nepripravljenost pripravljamo? V družbi, kjer se nemoč objektivno povečuje, ljudje razvijejo obrambni nagon, da si moč povrnemo z manipuliranjem drugih. Ego postane majhen, izgine v notranjosti in se vseobsegajoče vrne na površino. Kakšno podobo nam ponuja ogledalo manipulacije?

Od začetka pandemije lahko v vseh sferah umetnosti opažamo selitev idej iz materialne realnosti v digitalni, izmišljeni svet, saj nam le to omogoča vzpostavljanje skupnosti. Predstava Dimenzije stika je odziv na kolektivne spremembe družbe kot tudi na spremembe vsakega izmed nas. Vsako dejanje ima svojo posledico: vse kar obstaja, je odvisno od tega, kar je obstajalo prej. Spomin posameznika ustvari kontekst in nas vse definira kot nezanesljive, subjektivne pripovedovalce. Prostor našega projekta ni ne v materialnem ne v digitalnem svetu. Je hibrid, ki je v dialogu z obema. Odpiramo vprašanja o stiku samem, o medsebojnih vezeh in o tem, kaj je dokaz za njihov obstoj.
Dimenzije stika sestavlja umetniški klan štirih ljudi, kjer en ustvarja prostor, drugi ustvarja zvok, preostala dva pa sta prepuščena gibu. Nikoli ne zapravite dobre krize. Naš namen je enak tudi v času pandemije, spremenili so se le okoliški pogoji.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we can observe the migration of ideas from material reality to the digital world in all spheres of art. Digital reality is a fictional world that allows us the establish a community. The project Dimensions of Encounter is a response to the collective changes in society, as well as to the changes of each individual being. Every act has its consequence: everything that exists is dependent on the state that was before that. A memory of an individual creates a context and defines us all as unreliable, subjective narrators. The space of our project is neither in the material nor in the digital space. It’s a hybrid that is in dialogue with both of them. The project opens up questions about the contact itself, about mutual bonds and about the proof of their very existence.
Dimensions of Encounter is an art tribe of four people where one creates the space, another creates the sound, the remaining two are left there to play. Never waste a good crisis. At the time of the pandemic, our purpose remains the same, except for the conditions around us.
